Lyft Lux Requirements
Lyft Lux Driver Requirements
Lyft Lux is a new service from the rideshare service Lyft that launched this year in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco and Silicon Valley.
Lyft Lux pays Lyft drivers more for driving a black car or a black SUV. Lyft Lux was designed specifically for riders that want a black, top-notch car. Whether it be a prom, black tie event, or a swanky party, Lyft Lux is designed to let customers arrive in style.
You can see the Lyft Lux Car Requirements here.
So, why would Lyft drivers want to participate in Lyft Lux rather than just ‘regular’ Lyft? Well, according to Lyft’s website, riders who order through Lyft Lux (on average) give their drivers 150% more in tips than riders who order through Lyft’s regular service. This is likely because the people most in need of Lyft Lux are people with more money/disposable income.
Lyft Lux 0% Commission
Lyft now has a limited time offer for all new drivers with Lyft Lux- eligible vehicles. This limited time offer allows for drivers new to Lyft Lux to enjoy a 0% commission on these pricier rides. Once hopeful drivers are approved for Lyft Lux, they are then allowed to keep their commission on Lyft Lux, Lyft Premier and Lyft Lux SUV rides all the way through July 16th. So, when Lyft Lux drivers cash out for their weekly earnings, Lyft will refund all of a driver’s commission on high-end rides.
There are a few requirements drivers must meet to qualify to drive with Lyft Lux or Lyft Lux SUV. First, drivers must meet all of the general Lyft requirements for drivers. These requirements include:

- passing a driving record check and background check,
