The IIHS gave the Honda CR-V a “good” safety rating across the board, in the categories of Moderate Overlap Front Test Results; Side Impact Test Results; Rear Crash Protection Results; and Roof Strength Test Results. In addition to its superb safety ratings, users also praise the CR-V for its attractive style, and especially roomy leg space.

3. Toyota Highlander
The Toyota Highlander has received the top “superior” rating for its state-of-the-art collision avoidance system – and the second best “acceptable” rating for headlight design. A major point of attraction for the Highlander is the vehicle’s advanced safety systems, which all come as standard equipment for the car. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has given this vehicle an overall five-star rating (and U.S. News has given this car a 9.3 out of 10 safety rating).

4. Subaru Impreza
One of the least expensive cars on top ‘safe car’ lists, the Subaru Impreza sells for between $18,395 and $24,595. But don’t let the price fool you – the Impreza may not be as expensive as other cars, but its safety ratings exceed many of them anyway…making it a top pick for safety-minded purchasers & safety-conscious Uber drivers. Not only did the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration give it an overall five-star rating, but it also gave the Impreza five stars in every single safety category. The IIHS ranked the Impreza as one of its Top Safety Picks, with the vehicle scoring “good” rankings in all major categories.
