What is Uber Platinum?
The Metals Program – UberSILVER, UberGOLD, UberPLATINUM
The Uber Platinum Program is a rewards program for high-performing drivers.
A Platinum Uber driver is rewarded in the form of ‘surge multipliers’ — i.e., after completing a certain number of rides in a given week, they are eligible for a bonus in the form of surge-value (higher value) rides.
75 rides within one week = Platinum Status.
If drivers complete or exceed 75 rides per week, they will be given Platinum Status (*currently only available in Los Angeles and Washington DC).
The surge multiplier will be applied to rides which occur at certain times, and within certain areas. When you qualify for Platinum Status, Uber will send you a direct email with information on the Active Reward Zone for Los Angeles or Washington DC, in which you will be free to receive rides & collect the associated surge rewards.
An Uber Platinum driver in Washington DC or Los Angeles will likely receive 2.2X the regular fare for each trip — a major earnings boost as compared to regular Uber drivers.
Here is a link to the Active Reward Zone in Washington DC (inside this zone, Metal Drivers will be able to take trips which qualify for surge-multiplication).
Maintain Your Platinum Status
Drivers must keep their weekly ride total up — if they stop driving for one week, they risk losing their Metal Status.
To regain their Metal status, drivers must start again, passing the minimum ride threshold for each Metal Type.
Uber Driver-Partners will be informed via email of their current status every week.
